MAN SERIOUSLY INJURED AFTER KINGSTON CRASH

Just before 6:00 PM on Thursday, a Ford Ranger pickup truck with a Monroe County tag, driven by Gavin Wells, crashed near Delosier Lane east of Rockwood after a series of collisions. The truck was first observed traveling at high speed through Kingston and into the midtown area along Highway 70, where it struck multiple vehicles.
According to Rockwood Police Chief Kelly Pittman, officers spotted the truck near Patton Lane and attempted to stop it, but it collided with another vehicle near Delosier Lane, veered off the road, rolled several times, and ended in a deep ditch. The crash left Wells seriously injured, and he was airlifted by LifeStar from the midtown helipad to UT Medical Center in Knoxville, with his condition, age, and official address currently unknown.
No pursuit was initiated by police, and the reason for Wells’ erratic driving remains unclear. No other individuals were injured in the collisions, which caused only vehicle damage. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating and will release a report with further details.
