Rockwood Police Department responded to two separate accidents on Friday in Rockwood.

The first incident occurred just before 5:00 p.m. at First Financial Bank on North Gateway Avenue. A male driver, mistakenly believing his vehicle was in park, attempted to exit, but the vehicle rolled, knocking him over and running over his arm, possibly injuring his leg. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second accident, a two-vehicle collision, occurred around 9:15 p.m. on North Gateway Avenue in front of Big E’s Market. A southbound vehicle attempting to turn into the market’s parking lot collided with a northbound vehicle, disabling both. One female was injured and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries; the two occupants of the other vehicle did not require hospitalization. Rockwood police, fire department, and ambulance personnel responded. Traffic was detoured to Kingston Avenue northbound during the investigation and cleanup.
