CASE AGAINST ROCKWOOD CITY EMPLOYEE DISMISSED

On August 5, 2025, a case involving Rockwood City employee Matthew Thomas was dismissed in General Sessions Court. Three weeks prior, Rockwood Police Officer Jason Lee pulled Thomas over for non-functioning brake lights.
Thomas continued driving for three blocks to his home before stopping, leading to a verbal altercation with Officer Lee. The exchange, captured on dash cam footage that later surfaced on public media platforms, resulted in Thomas’s arrest for resisting arrest and faulty brake lights.
Judge Humphreys dismissed the case, but Thomas was ordered to pay court costs.
