This morning, shortly after 8:00 AM CDT, a Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) supervisor discovered human remains in the woods along Interstate 40 Eastbound near mile marker 313 in Cumberland County while a mowing crew was working.

As stated by Admin. Lieutenant Eric McCormick of the Tennessee Highway Patrol, “A little after 8 am this morning, TDOT was mowing along I-40 E/B near mile marker 313. A supervisor with TDOT discovered human remains in the woods and notified the authorities. The scene was secured by THP and the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department. TBI and the 13th District Attorney General’s Office are investigating the remains.”
