$1,500 WORTH OF STOLEN GOODS FOUND AT HOMELESS CAMP

On September 20, 2025, Officer Shade Foster and Crossville police units responded to a trespassing call at Tennessee Ave., where they met two people near a homeless camp in the woods by the first green of a golf course. The two were clearing out the camp, removing large amounts of trash and recovering approximately $1,500 worth of stolen items belonging to the golf course, which were taken from a storage facility on the property.
They also found mail and headphones linked to Kristen Mays and Stephen Carroll, along with evidence of $5,000 in damage to the golf course’s first hole, likely caused by a truck consistent with Mays’ red Ford F-150. Multiple “No Trespassing” signs and purple paint marked the restricted area. At the storage building, one of the two individuals assisting police confirmed the stolen items came from the pavilion, noticed missing since September 13, 2025.
Later, Mptl. Freeman arrested Mays and Carroll at a Dollar General Market on Miller Ave., and they were charged with theft, burglary, vandalism, and criminal trespassing before being transported to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
