According to Chief Deputy Tim Phillips of the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, a man’s body was found on Caney Creek Road near Joyner Holler Road around 4:30 a.m. The individual, identified as a 28-year-old white male, was deceased. The man’s identity has not been released.

The Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating the cause of death and cannot provide further details at this time. The body was transported by a Roane County Rescue Squad unit to the Knoxville Forensic Center for an autopsy.
