A house fire broke out just after 2:00 p.m. today at 426 Lakemont Drive in Rockwood, prompting a rapid response from the Rockwood Police and Fire Departments along with mutual aid from Harriman and West Roane County fire crews.
Upon arrival, responders discovered a 55-year-old woman still inside the smoke-filled home. Firefighters entered the residence, located her, and successfully pulled her to safety. She was in serious condition and airlifted by LifeStar helicopter, which landed at the Rockwood Sports Complex parking lot, to UT Medical Center in Knoxville for treatment.
