ROCKWOOD POLICE LOCATE MISSING TEEN
The Rockwood Police Department was called to search for a 14-year-old teenager who went missing from a home in the Barrington Place subdivision off North Gateway Avenue in Rockwood around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The parents alerted police, prompting the response. According to Rockwood Police Chief Kelly Pittman, Officer Courtney Karlsven was first on the scene to take the report and begin the initial search. She eventually called for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department to deploy drones for an overhead search through the night.
Chief Pittman said Officer Karlsven located the teen unharmed at Walmart about two hours later and returned him to the residence. Chief Pittman congratulated his officers for their quick action in finding the missing teen. No further details were available as to why he left the residence or what led to the search.
