KINGSTON POLICE AND HANDS OF MERCY DISTRIBUTE 800 THANKSGIVING FOOD BOXES

The Kingston Police Department, along with Hands of Mercy Food Pantry in Kingston, distributed plenty of food boxes to the community today from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Victory Baptist Church on Highway 70 east of town. KPD and Hands of Mercy have been partnering for more than 20 years to provide food to the community right before Thanksgiving.
More than 150 vehicles drove through the parking lot today, and 800 boxes of food were prepared for distribution. Half of those boxes—400 in total—were also delivered to local schools for needy families, helping make Thanksgiving brighter for those in need. Kingston Police Chief Jim Washam expressed appreciation for his department’s staff, Hands of Mercy volunteers, church members, members of the public, several city employees, and some council members who participated today or helped prepare the boxes earlier this week.
Happy Thanksgiving to all from Kingston and Hands of Mercy Food Pantry!
