CROSSVILLE MODEL RAILROAD CLUB BREAKS GROUND ON LONG-AWAITED PERMANENT HOME

The Crossville Model Railroad Club celebrated a major milestone with a ground-breaking ceremony on December 2 for their new 3,000 sq. ft. permanent building located at 87 West Ave. in Crossville, Tennessee, with Blake Construction serving as the contractor.
After being without a home for over 30 months, the club is excited to finally own its own facility and plans to reopen to the public in spring 2026.
Club president Patrick Taylor expressed gratitude for the community support while explaining the need for fundraising: because the club is a 501(c)(7) organization, it cannot directly solicit tax-deductible donations, so supporters wishing to make tax-deductible contributions are asked to donate instead to their sister organization, the Upper Cumberland Railroad Society (a 501(c)(3)).
The club is exploring legal options, possibly including a GoFundMe or indirect giving methods, to accept additional community support. For more information, contact Ann Grogitsky at 931-742-1824.
Taylor thanked everyone for their encouragement and promised further updates on donation procedures and construction progress.
