CUMBERLAND MAYOR ALLEN FOSTER APPOINTED TO TN TECH BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton has appointed Cumberland County Mayor Allen Foster to the Tennessee Technological University Board of Trustees, with his term beginning immediately and running through June 30, 2031.
A two-time Tennessee Tech graduate with degrees in Business Administration and Strategic Leadership, Foster brings deep personal and family ties to the university: his late wife Rebecca earned two nursing degrees there and served on advisory boards, leading to the creation of the Rebecca Foster Memorial Scholarship Endowment after her passing; their daughter Brooke is also a two-time TTU nursing graduate who now works as a pediatric nurse practitioner and adjunct instructor; and their son Shade was a member of the university’s football program.
Speaker Sexton praised Foster’s professionalism, dedication, and integrity, expressing confidence that he will advance Tennessee Tech’s mission of excellence in education, innovation, and workforce development.
With extensive experience in public administration, economic development, and community leadership in the Upper Cumberland region, Foster stated he is deeply honored by the appointment and inspired by his family’s legacy as he works to support the university’s future growth and ensure it remains a place where students can pursue their dreams.
Formal notice of the appointment has been sent to the board and relevant state officials.
