TRAFFIC STOP IN WARTBURG LEADS TO DRUG SEIZURE

Drugs Removed from Wartburg Streets – The Wartburg Police Department continues its commitment to protecting our community and keeping illegal drugs off our streets.
Recently, Officer Sarah Jo Posey conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of multiple illegal substances, drug paraphernalia, and a firearm. During the investigation, her and Officer Wesley King seized methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, illegal pills, and items commonly associated with narcotics use and distribution. A loaded firearm was also located inside the vehicle.
Based on the quantity of drugs, the manner in which they were concealed, and the presence of multiple controlled substances, officers determined the drugs were possessed with intent to manufacture, deliver, or sell. Criminal charges were filed in accordance with Tennessee law.
Every arrest like this makes a difference. Removing dangerous drugs especially substances like fentanyl and methamphetamine helps reduce overdoses, addiction, and the related crimes that impact families and neighborhoods across our community.
