MULTIPLE EMERGENCY CALLS KEEP HARRIMAN AND ROCKWOOD FIRST RESPONDERS BUSY
On Sunday afternoon, emergency personnel and ambulances from Harriman and Rockwood were kept extremely busy with a high volume of calls, many involving breathing difficulties and chest pain.
The Rockwood Fire Department first responders handled two simultaneous calls around 4:15 p.m.—one on Hewitt Avenue and another on Brown West Drive—each requiring an ambulance. Meanwhile, Harriman Fire was initially dispatched to investigate a fire alarm on Devonia Street. Before they could complete that call, they were redirected to a medical emergency on Cumberland Avenue.
Shortly after, a three-vehicle collision occurred on Roane State Highway at the entrance to the Kroger shopping center, leaving one vehicle overturned. Traffic in the area was reduced to one lane as Harriman Fire and Police investigated. One person in a pickup truck was partially pinned inside, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported.
