CROSSVILLE NATIVE TO STAR IN MAJOR FILM RELEASE “SOLO MIO”

According to a report from the Crossville Chronicle, Julie Ann Emery, a native of Crossville, Tennessee, and a Cumberland County High School graduate who began her performing career at the Cumberland County Playhouse, stars opposite Kevin James in the romantic comedy “Solo Mio”, which hit theaters on February 6, 2026.

Distributed by Angel Studios and directed by Daniel Kinnane and Charles Kinnane, the film—co-written by Kevin James and the Kinnane brothers—follows James’s character, Matt Taylor, a schoolteacher who is left at the altar in Rome by his fiancée, Heather, portrayed by Emery. Rather than cancel the honeymoon, Matt embarks on the trip alone, leading to a journey of self-discovery amid the city’s romantic backdrop.

Emery previously worked with James on the 2005 film “Hitch” alongside Will Smith.

Emery, known for roles in series such as “Better Call Saul”, “Preacher”, “Fargo”, “Suits”, “Dexter”, and “NCIS”, remains connected to her Tennessee roots—she fondly cheers “Go Vols!” and previously hosted a special screening of her 2017 film “Christmas on the Coast” in Crossville. Looking ahead, she has two upcoming projects: “The Green River Killer”, where she plays an FBI profiler, and “BUSTED”, a dark coming-of-age comedy heist film directed by Maria Bissell, co-starring Elsie Fisher and Mel Rodriguez, which she greatly enjoyed.
