DETAILS ON TWO-CAR CRASH ON HIGHWAY 70 NORTH IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

On February 13, 2026, at approximately 9:35 PM, a two-vehicle crash occurred on US Highway 70N at Ivey Road in Cumberland County, Tennessee.
Both vehicles—a 2017 Chevrolet Cruze driven by 29-year-old Bryant Oakes from Tennessee (with passenger Kayla Harper, age 34, also from Tennessee) and a 2018 Dodge Journey driven by 31-year-old Tara Johnson from Tennessee (with passenger Ineka Banks, age 34, also from Tennessee)—were traveling westbound.
The Chevrolet Cruze struck the right rear of the Dodge Journey. Following the impact, the Cruze veered off the road, crossed a ditch, climbed an embankment, became briefly airborne, and then landed back on the embankment, while the Journey came to a stop nearby. Oakes and Johnson were wearing seat belts and sustained no injuries.
Harper, who was not wearing a seat belt, was injured, while Banks, who was belted, was not. Oakes faces pending charges awaiting further investigation, with no charges listed for the others.
