HARRIMAN CITY COUNCIL TURNS DOWN BID ON SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION
The Harriman City Council met last night and approved a new ordinance on second and final reading, allowing property owners who may not live within the city to vote in their elections. Members turned down a $1.4 million bid from a company to do sidewalk construction from the community center to downtown because it was the only bid received.
Harriman city officials are close to hiring a beautification employee. City Manager Scott Mason said in his report that they have narrowed their search and hopefully will hire someone in the next week or so.
The city is also looking for a parks and recreation director.
