NEARLY 9,000 VEC CUSTOMERS OUT OF POWER IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
Around 11 a.m. this morning, a power outage involving 1,400 VEC customers in Cumberland County took place.
Right after much was restored, a larger one happened involving nearly 9,000 customers.
As of 2 p.m. Central time, VEC is currently working to restore power as fast as possible. A restoration time or cause of the outage was not available.
VEC officials say there is an unspecified problem at the Crossville power substation creating the outage.
UPDATE 4 p.m. – Power outage number has dropped from 9,000 to 6,100 customers.
UPDATE 4:15 p.m. – Now 3,400 customers without power.
