7-MONTH-OLD CHILD PRONOUNCED DEAD AFTER BEING LEFT IN HOT CAR IN MONTEREY

A 7-month-old child died after being found unconscious in a hot car parked at the Monterey Public Library in Monterey, Tennessee, on Wednesday. Putnam County deputies believe the infant had been left in the vehicle for several hours with the engine off and windows rolled up.

Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris described the incident as a “devastating tragedy” and stated that authorities are thoroughly investigating the circumstances. He urged the public to always check their vehicles as temperatures rise, emphasizing that a simple check can save a child’s life. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
