TENNESSEE STATE MUSEUM AWARDS $86,400 GRANT TO RESTORE HISTORIC ROANE COUNTY COURTHOUSE

The Tennessee State Museum has awarded an $86,400 grant to the Roane County Heritage Commission to support the preservation of the Historic Roane County Courthouse. The funding, which arrived last week, will be used for important repairs including the installation of new doors, plaster restoration, and other necessary maintenance work on the landmark building.

The Roane County Heritage Commission expressed gratitude for the grant and praised the ongoing dedication of Robert Bailey and Mary Pippin, who care for and protect the courthouse daily. Special thanks were also extended to State Senator Ken Yager for his continued support of Roane County’s historic preservation efforts.
