TWO FLEE ROCKWOOD POLICE AFTER LATE-NIGHT CRASH; LATER CAPTURED
Following a late-night crash in Rockwood, local authorities arrested two individuals after their vehicle struck concrete barricades on Front Avenue. Preliminary reports suggest the vehicle was attempting to evade law enforcement when it traveled toward Gateway Avenue and crashed into a barrier near the site of a long-removed railroad crossing behind Evans Mortuary. Although the occupants initially fled the scene on foot, they were quickly apprehended by police.
The driver, 23-year-old Jacquez Johnson, is being held without bond on charges of aggravated burglary, leaving the scene of an accident, and vandalism. Also taken into custody was Stacey Renee Harvey, who faces multiple drug-related charges, including the manufacture and delivery of methamphetamine and two counts of simple possession. While Harvey has since been released on a $1,000 bond, the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
