ROANE COUNTY FIRST RESPONDERS HONOR SPECIAL OLYMPICS ATHLETES
The Roane County Sheriff’s Office recently shared their pride in participating in a community escort for local Special Olympics athletes as they traveled through Kingston to the Southwest Point Park Sports Complex. Upon arriving at the track, the Sheriff’s Office joined forces with the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Kingston Police and Fire Departments, and various other area first responders to support the competitors.
The event featured RCSO Chief Deputy Tim Phillips and KPD Chief Jim Washam serving as honorary torch bearers alongside a group of the athletes. Celebrating the inspiring spirit of the participants, the agency encouraged community members to get involved with the Roane County Area 30 Special Olympics program by visiting their official website.
