DETAILS ON SUNDAY’S SINGLE-VEHICLE ROLLOVER IN ROCKWOOD
On the morning of Sunday, May 3rd, emergency personnel responded to a single-vehicle rollover accident on North Gateway Avenue in Rockwood. Just before 11 a.m., first responders discovered a classic Corvette in the median north of the Tedder Street intersection. The driver and sole occupant, identified as Rockwood resident Chevis Cox, had already exited the vehicle by the time authorities arrived.
According to initial reports, the accident occurred after the Corvette’s throttle became stuck, causing Cox to lose control of the vehicle. The car subsequently entered the median and rolled over multiple times. Despite the severity of the crash, Cox did not appear to have sustained serious injuries and declined transportation to the hospital.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
