CUMBERLAND COUNTY DEPUTIES HONORED FOR LIFESAVING RESPONSE TO CHAINSAW ACCIDENT

On May 7th, Cumberland County EMS honored Deputy Josh Alderman, Deputy Chris Page, and Sergeant Ryan Ashburn of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office with lifesaving awards for their swift actions that helped save a local resident’s life following a traumatic chainsaw accident.

The deputies arrived on scene before EMS and immediately began emergency medical care, using equipment from their patrol vehicles to successfully control a severe arterial bleed. Their rapid intervention was credited with preventing a tragic outcome.

Sergeant Ashburn and Deputy Page both hold Emergency Medical Responder certifications, and the group’s training, preparedness, and teamwork were key to the successful response. EMS Director Chris Miller praised the incident as a strong example of interagency cooperation and the critical importance of law enforcement officers being able to provide immediate lifesaving care.

Cumberland County EMS expressed gratitude to the three deputies for their professionalism and commitment to public service. The recognition event included the responding EMS crew, the honored deputies, the saved patient, and a representative from Life Force.
