OLIVER SPRINGS FIRE CHIEF PROMOTED TO ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF WITH KNOXVILLE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Chief Justin Bailey of the Oliver Springs Volunteer Fire Department has been promoted to Assistant Fire Chief with the Knoxville Fire Department. Bailey, who has served with the Knoxville department for several years while also leading the Oliver Springs department for many years, shared the news on his Facebook page last weekend.
In a statement following his pinning ceremony, he described the past few weeks as emotionally hectic and expressed gratitude to God for His guidance, his wife and family for their support, and the mentors and friends who helped him along the way. Oliver Springs City Manager Corey Jenkins wished Bailey well in his new role, noting that he will continue serving as Oliver Springs Fire Chief for the time being.
Jenkins added that the town appreciates Bailey’s contributions and that future plans for the department will be shared with the public as they become clearer.
