LAKE TANSI POLICE WARN RESIDENTS TO USE CAUTION WITH DOOR-TO-DOOR SOLICITORS
The Lake Tansi Police Department is urging residents to exercise caution when dealing with door-to-door solicitors amid growing community concerns. While many solicitors represent legitimate businesses, the department advises thorough due diligence before making any purchase or signing agreements, including researching the company online, reading customer reviews, checking the Better Business Bureau, and asking to see a valid business license or Tennessee solicitor permit.
The police will investigate any reported complaints, but properly licensed solicitors are permitted to operate in the area. To prevent unwanted visits, residents can post “No Soliciting” or “No Trespassing” signs. Officials recommend avoiding high-pressure sales tactics, never feeling rushed to decide on the spot, and contacting law enforcement immediately if anything feels suspicious or unsafe.
The department thanks residents for their recent reports and vigilance in helping keep the community safe.
