HARRIMAN CITY COUNCIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS (JUNE 2ND)
The Harriman City Council convened on Tuesday, June 2nd, at 6:00 p.m. at Harriman City Hall. Under New Business, the council approved a resolution to annex property at the owner’s request, selected Blue Cross/Blue Shield as the city’s health insurance provider for employees for the upcoming fiscal year, and passed a resolution for RTP Grant Administration Services focused on development of the former paper mill site now owned by the city.
They also authorized the mayor to negotiate a fiber contract with HUB for city locations and approved the city taking over permitting and inspection services for residential and commercial properties from the county.
In Mayor and Council Remarks, Mayor Wayne Best announced the official retirement of City Manager Scott Mason, praising his service and noting that he will be difficult to replace as the city begins the search for a new city manager.
