CROSSVILLE MAN TO FACE LEAVING ACCIDENT, FALSE REPORT, AND PUBLIC INTOXICATION CHARGES IN CUMBERLAND COURT THURSDAY

Sebastian Blake Smith of Crossville faces multiple criminal and traffic charges in Cumberland County Circuit Court on June 4th stemming from an incident on March 11, 2026.

According to court documents, Smith was involved in a vehicle accident around 8:31 PM when he allegedly failed to yield at the intersection of Dunbar Road and Big Horn Drive, striking a Honda Civic with his Jeep. He reportedly left the scene, drove onto a golf course, and was later captured on Flock camera leaving the area without damage and returning with new damage. Vehicle parts left at the scene matched his Jeep. He is charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident Involving Property Damage, along with related traffic violations including failing to yield at a stop intersection.

Smith initially called authorities to report his vehicle as stolen, a claim later determined to be false, leading to a False Reports to Officer charge. Officers found him barefoot nearby with slurred speech and a strong odor of alcohol. He admitted to drinking and stated he had not been driving. This resulted in a Public Intoxication charge.

Smith is represented by attorney James Hargis, and the matters are scheduled for Cumberland County court on June 4th.
