STORM CHANCES BUILD LATE WEEK ACROSS THE REGION

Regional Forecast — Cumberland Plateau & Tennessee Valley

A pleasant start to the week will give way to warmer temperatures and increasing humidity by midweek. A strong storm system is expected to bring widespread showers and thunderstorms Thursday into Thursday night, followed by cooler conditions for Juneteenth.

Monday: Mostly sunny to sunny. Highs around 77 on the Cumberland Plateau and 81 in the Tennessee Valley. Light winds.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy with areas of late-night fog possible across the Plateau. Lows around 54 to 57.

Tuesday: Patchy morning fog on the Plateau, otherwise mostly sunny. Highs around 78 to 82. Light west winds.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows around 59 to 60.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and warmer. Highs around 83 on the Plateau and 86 in the Valley. Southwest winds increasing to 5 to 10 mph with higher gusts.

Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of a late-night shower. Lows around 69 to 70. Breezy at times with gusts up to 25 mph.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms becoming likely during the afternoon. Highs around 83 on the Plateau and 87 in the Valley. Gusty southwest winds. Chance of rain 80 percent.

Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, with periods of heavy rain possible. Lows around 65 to 68. Chance of rain 90 to 100 percent.

Juneteenth (Friday): Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially during the morning and early afternoon. Highs around 77 on the Plateau and 80 in the Valley. Chance of rain 70 to 80 percent.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of lingering showers. Lows around 58 on the Plateau and 60 in the Valley. Chance of rain 20 to 30 percent.
