FORMER ROCKWOOD POLICE OFFICER’S TERMINATION APPEAL DENIED
On Monday, the Rockwood Civil Service Board denied a termination appeal filed by former Rockwood Police Department officer Charles Haubrich, upholding the department’s decision to fire him. Haubrich, who had been with the department since 2007, was terminated in November 2025 following a series of incidents involving inappropriate comments that Police Chief Kelly Pittman noted were part of a pattern of behavior unbecoming of an officer.
His personnel file already contained multiple reprimands and written warnings prior to his firing. The disciplinary issues included a July 9, 2025, traffic stop where body camera video captured Haubrich making a crude joke to a female driver who was venting about her vehicle issues. The final incident that triggered his termination occurred in November 2025, when Haubrich violated state codes by asking a female Harriman police officer to “go deep” during a body cavity search, resulting in his dismissal 12 days later.
