MAN INDICTED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY FOR AGGRAVATED KIDNAPPING AND ARMED ROBBERY TO APPEAR IN COURT TUESDAY

A major criminal case involving an alleged armed carjacking, kidnapping, and assault is moving forward in Cumberland County. Chase Edward Trisdale is scheduled for a deadline hearing in Cumberland County Circuit Court on June 23, 2026, following a 2025 grand jury indictment that tied him and two co-defendants to a violent encounter spanning multiple felony charges. Trisdale is currently being represented by a public defender, with his bond set at $500,000.

The charges stem from a September 10, 2024 incident where Trisdale, alongside co-defendants Robert Aguilar Garay III and Brooke Ann Crabtree, allegedly targeted two victims. According to court records, the trio unlawfully confined and kidnapped the victims to facilitate a robbery and auto burglary. During the encounter, Trisdale and Crabtree allegedly caused bodily injury to the male victim, while Garay is accused of escalating the situation by brandishing a black handgun to place the victims in imminent fear of death or injury.

The indictment details an armed theft where the suspects allegedly stole a wallet, credit cards, a Wisconsin ID, a key fob to a 2014 Chevrolet Volt, two cell phones, and $1,000 in cash directly from the victims. Trisdale and Crabtree are further accused of breaking into Garland’s Chevrolet Volt and forcibly stealing personal items, including CDs, a hatchet, and a sheathed knife.

While Trisdale faces extensive felony charges including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and auto burglary, his co-defendant, Garay, faces additional severe penalties. The state has charged Garay with especially aggravated kidnapping and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, noting a previous 2001 conviction in Multnomah County, Oregon, for third-degree robbery and second-degree kidnapping.
