Regional Forecast — Cumberland Plateau & Tennessee Valley
A stretch of warm summer weather is expected through the weekend. Aside from a few scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms, much of the period will feature sunshine and gradually rising temperatures, especially across the Tennessee Valley.
Wednesday: Morning patchy fog, then mostly sunny to sunny. Highs around 80 on the Cumberland Plateau and 83 in the Tennessee Valley. Light winds.
Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows around 60 on the Plateau and 62 in the Valley.
Thursday: Sunny and warmer. Highs around 83 on the Plateau and 87 in the Valley. Light south to southwest winds developing during the afternoon.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy with a slight chance of an evening shower or thunderstorm, mainly across the Plateau. Lows around 67 to 68. Chance of rain 20 percent.
Friday: Mostly sunny with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing during the day. Highs around 85 on the Plateau and 88 in the Valley. Southwest winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40 to 50 percent.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows around 68 on the Plateau and 70 in the Valley. Chance of rain 30 percent.
