POLICE INVESTIGATE AFTERNOON THEFT OF OVER $1,100 IN POWER TOOLS FROM CROSSVILLE SHED
Local authorities are investigating a daytime burglary after more than $1,100 worth of power tools and equipment were stolen from an unsecured shed on Old Mail Road.
According to a report from the Crossville Police Department, Officer Steven Mcneal was dispatched to a residence at Old Mail Road on June 23 at approximately 4:31 PM.
The homeowner told police he discovered the theft after returning home from work. Upon going to his backyard shed, he noticed several high-value items were missing, including:
-
A Husqvarna pressure washer
-
A Craftsman weed eater
-
A Ryobi table saw
-
A 5-gallon bucket filled with miscellaneous tools
The total value of the stolen property is estimated at $1,150.00.
The homeowner indicated that the theft occurred sometime between Saturday, June 20, and the afternoon of June 23. He noted that he left for work at 3:30 AM on Tuesday and returned around 4:00 PM to find the items gone. Investigators noted that the shed door was not locked, but was instead held shut by a concrete block.
Physical evidence at the scene included distinct tire marks leading from the main road, wrapping around the house directly to the shed, and back out to the road.
While there are currently no known suspects, a potential break in the case could come from a neighbor’s security system. The homeowner informed officers that a neighbor has a surveillance camera that may have captured the suspect vehicle. Police are waiting to review the footage once the neighbor becomes available.
The investigation remains open, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Crossville Police Department.
