Commuters faced morning delays today following a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 Eastbound involving a wrecked tractor-trailer.

According to officials, the crash occurred at approximately 7:47 AM (ET) near mile marker 356.

The incident temporarily compromised eastbound travel, blocking both the left lane of the two-lane highway and the left shoulder. According to the TDOT Smart Way map, the issue appears to have been cleared up now.

No information has been released yet regarding injuries or the cause of the crash.
