A typical summertime pattern will continue through the weekend with warm, humid conditions and several opportunities for showers and thunderstorms. Drier weather returns early next week, allowing temperatures to climb well into the upper 80s and lower 90s.
Friday: Mostly sunny with a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 85 on the Cumberland Plateau and 88 in the Tennessee Valley. Chance of rain 20 to 30 percent.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows around 70 to 71. Chance of rain 40 percent.
Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely, especially during the afternoon and evening. Highs around 83 on the Plateau and 87 in the Valley. Chance of rain 80 percent.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely. Patchy fog may develop late across the Plateau. Lows around 69 on the Plateau and 70 in the Valley. Chance of rain 70 percent.
