MOTORCYCLIST INJURED IN BLOUNT COUNTY CRASH INVOLVING BEAR
A motorcycle ride turned into a wild encounter Friday evening when a collision involving a bear left a Maryland woman injured on a Tennessee parkway.
According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the 69-year-old woman was traveling along the 6100 block of East Lamar Alexander Parkway when she lost control of her motorcycle. The vehicle went into a skid before coming to a stop in the middle of the roadway.
While the exact mechanics of the accident remain under investigation, a witness told her significant other that the motorcyclist had struck a bear. According to that report, the bear fled the scene immediately after the impact. THP noted that the witness did not remain on the scene to speak with troopers directly.
The motorcyclist sustained injuries in the crash and was transported for medical care. As of publication, the full extent of her injuries remains unknown.
