CROSSVILLE WOMAN FACES MULTIPLE BURGLARY AND DRUG CHARGES IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY COURT
A Crossville woman is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on July 9, 2026, to face a series of criminal charges stemming from a residential burglary and a separate drug-related incident.
According to court dockets and sworn affidavits of complaint, Erica Nicole Gilley faces six distinct charges brought by local law enforcement over the past eight months. She is represented by defense attorney Jeff Vires.
The most severe charges against Gilley stem from an incident on April 22, 2026. Deputy Morgan Alvarez responded to a residence at Scarlett Drive after an off-duty police officer spotted two unauthorized individuals inside a detached garage.
Upon arrival, deputies located Gilley and a male associate sitting in a vehicle on the property. According to the affidavit, Gilley repeatedly reached into her back pocket before admitting to carrying a pipe. A search of her person revealed:
-
Stolen Jewelry: Four rings, two bracelets, and two necklaces found in her right front pocket.
-
Stolen Property: A small Case pocketknife and a prescription bottle belonging to a third party.
-
Drug Paraphernalia: A yellow hollow pin with burnt residue, a burnt piece of aluminum foil, and a black lighter.
The homeowner identified the jewelry, knife, and prescription bottle as stolen items valued at approximately $540. Gilley was subsequently arrested and charged with:
-
Aggravated Burglary (Habitation) – Class C Felony
-
Burglary (Other Than Habitation)
-
Theft of Property (Up to $1,000)
-
Possession of Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia
In addition to the burglary charges, Gilley is answering to prior misdemeanor charges stemming from a November 6, 2025 incident.
Master Patrol Officer Shade Foster responded to a call regarding a passed-out driver in the Rural King parking lot in Crossville. Officers located Gilley in a vehicle with another, both exhibiting slurred speech, lethargy, and constricted pupils. Gilley admitted to taking Xanax earlier in the evening and refused standardized field sobriety tests.
During the investigation, K9 unit Vallen alerted officers to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed approximately 0.49 grams of a grey powdery substance—believed to be fentanyl—wrapped in aluminum foil under the radio dashboard compartment.
Gilley was charged in connection with that incident for:
-
Simple Possession / Casual Exchange
-
Public Intoxication
All six counts have been combined on the Cumberland County General Sessions Court docket for July 9, 2026, where Gilley will stand before the court for preliminary proceedings.
