MAN ARRESTED FOR DUI AFTER LEAVING YOUNG CHILDREN HOME ALONE FOR ALCOHOL RUN
A routine traffic stop late Tuesday night led to the arrest of a Monterey man after police discovered he was driving under the influence with a revoked license—and had left his two small children unattended at home.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., Monterey Police officers pulled over a vehicle driven by Jacob Newton Davis for operating without taillights. During the stop, officers determined that Davis was under the influence.
A subsequent records check revealed that Davis was driving on a revoked license stemming from a previous DUI arrest. Officers also learned that Davis had left his two young children home alone while he drove out to buy more alcohol.
Davis was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Putnam County Jail. His bond has been set at $20,300.
