ONE ARRESTED, ONE AT LARGE FOLLOWING CUMBERLAND COUNTY CONVENIENCE STORE BURGLARY
A joint investigation between the Cumberland County and Roane County Sheriff’s Offices has led to charges against two men following a high-value break-in at a local gas station, though one suspect remains on the run.
The Break-In
On the morning of May 23, 2026, deputies responded to a report of a burglary at Jimmy’s Market, located at 2949 Westel Road. According to investigators, two masked men shattered the front window during the early morning hours to gain entry. Once inside, the suspects filled large trash cans with thousands of dollars worth of cigarette cartons and vaping equipment before fleeing.
Investigation & Arrests
Using store surveillance footage, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) investigators identified two suspects from Oliver Springs, TN:

Nathan Bradley Welch, 43

Donald Wayne Roberts, 59
A subsequent search warrant executed at a camper on Old Harriman Highway in Roane County yielded evidence connecting both men to the crime. Both Welch and Roberts have been formally charged with:

Welch was taken into custody and has since been released from the Cumberland County Jail on a $24,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 24, 2026.
