TENNESSEE TECH STUDENT SECURES SECOND $10,000 TACO BELL SCHOLARSHIP FOR GRADUATE SCHOOL

A Tennessee Tech University psychology student and campus Taco Bell employee is getting a major financial boost for her future education. Kyra Wright has been awarded the Taco Bell Foundation’s $10,000 Live Más Scholarship for the second time, bringing her total scholarship support to $20,000.

Wright was surprised with balloons, flowers, and a ceremonial check at the campus Taco Bell location during what she thought was a normal work shift.

After initially applying on a whim during her sophomore year with a last-minute video submission, Wright reapplied this year with a more in-depth video to help fund her upcoming graduate studies.

“I’m saving most of the scholarship money to continue my education after I graduate. My goal is to pursue a graduate degree, and this scholarship is helping make that possible,” Wright said.

Leadership from MRCO LLC, the franchise operator for the campus location, and Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services praised Wright’s dedication both on the job and in the classroom, noting that her achievement serves as an inspiration for other students across the university.
