ALAN CAMPBELL ARRESTED AFTER ATTEMPTING TO ENTER CROSSVILLE CHURCH AND VEHICLES

A local man was taken into custody on August 2, 2026, after police responded to reports of an individual attempting to open doors at Cornerstone Baptist Church and access parked vehicles.

According to the Crossville Police Department report filed by Officer Price, city units arrived at the scene and made contact with the suspect, identified as Alan Campbell. When questioned about his presence, Campbell claimed he had been picking up trash and was trying to speak to the pastor.

During the interaction, officers asked Campbell if he was carrying anything illegal. Campbell reportedly admitted to having marijuana in his backpack and gave officers consent to search both his person and his bag.

  • Evidence Recovered:

    • Two plastic baggies containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana, weighing approximately 48.61 grams total.

    • A red-and-white cigarette pack containing two white pills, identified as Acetaminophen Oxycodone Hydrochloride 5 mg (Percocet). Campbell stated he obtained the pills from a friend to treat a toothache.

After being read his Miranda warnings by Ptl. Johns, Campbell agreed to speak with officers and confirmed the substances were marijuana and prescription painkillers.

Campbell was placed into custody and faces charges including simple possession and the sale or distribution of marijuana. The seized drugs were logged into evidence at the Crossville Police Department, with the marijuana slated for testing at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) lab.
