A massive overnight fire heavily damaged a large residence in the Grand Vista Bay community east of Rockwood on East Shore Drive.

The West Roane County Fire Department responded to the early morning emergency, receiving mutual aid from multiple fire agencies across Roane County. Firefighters remained at the scene for hours, finally wrapping up operations near noon today.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported from the incident.
