TEVON MCMURRY FACES COURT TODAY AFTER DOMESTIC INCIDENT AND POLICE K-9 SEARCH

A local man faces multiple charges, including aggravated assault and evading arrest, following an early morning domestic incident on April 29, 2026.

According to court documents filed in the Cumberland County General Sessions Court, officers responded to a reported physical domestic disturbance at 1958 E. First Street at approximately 2:15 AM.

The victim told responding officers that Tevon Asante McMurry struck her, used the collar of her hoodie to completely cut off her air supply, and fled on foot after she called 911. Officers observed visible injuries, including blood on her face and mouth and marks on the left side of her face.

Following the call, a K-9 unit deployed by Sgt. Massey located McMurry hiding in a nearby patch of woods. Officers reported that McMurry was highly intoxicated and had been drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana prior to the incident.

Patrolman Jacob Ogle arrested McMurry, and Master Patrolman Freeman transported him to the Cumberland County Jail without incident. McMurry is charged with aggravated assault and evading arrest.
