NORTH CUMBERLAND ELEMENTARY WINS TVA GRANT TO POWER YOUTH ROBOTICS
North Cumberland Elementary School in Cumberland County is among the recipients of a major regional funding initiative aimed at expanding STEM education.
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) and Bicentennial Volunteers, Inc. (BVI) have awarded $700,000 in grants across their seven-state region to support youth robotics programs at 187 schools and non-profit organizations. The funding initiative will directly benefit over 7,400 students.
North Cumberland Elementary received $5,000 through the program, supported locally by the Volunteer Energy Cooperative. Schools and organizations are using the awards to either establish new robotics programs or enhance existing ones, providing students with hands-on experience in problem-solving, teamwork, and technical skills.
