HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER DESTROYS TRAFFIC SIGNAL POLE IN CROSSVILLE
Local authorities are searching for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run incident that knocked down a pedestrian crossing pole and disrupted traffic signals last week.
According to the Crossville-Cumberland County Crimestoppers, the incident occurred on August 15, 2026, at the intersection of East 1st Street and Main Street. A vehicle struck and completely tore down a pedestrian crossing pole connected to the intersection’s traffic light, causing the traffic signal to malfunction.
The driver failed to stop at the scene and fled outbound on East 1st Street. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the driver or the vehicle involved is urged to contact Crimestoppers at (931) 200-1173.
