CANDIDATE FILING DEADLINE PASSES FOR ROANE COUNTY MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS

The noon deadline on August 20, 2026, has come and gone for candidates seeking seats in city council, mayoral races, and school board positions across the area. The official list of candidates who qualified is now available through the Roane County Election Commission. This is the 2026 candidate filing information for the Kingston, Oak Ridge, Oliver Springs, and Rockwood municipal elections.

In the City of Kingston, Tim Neal will be unopposed for mayor. For City Council (elect three), three incumbents are seeking re-election—Philip Bredwell, Lucy Johnson, and Phillip Martin—while Jeff Gardner will attempt to unseat one of them.

For the Oak Ridge Board of Education (elect three), the qualified candidates are Laura McLean (Independent) and Erin S. Webb (Independent). For Oak Ridge City Council in the Roane County area (elect four), the ballot will include Steve Duncan, Joe Gaddis, incumbent and current Mayor Warren Gooch, L. C. “Charlie” Hensley, Kelly McCampbell, Greta Stoutt Ownby, and incumbent Ellen D. Smith.

In the City of Oliver Springs, Tasha Brantley has qualified for Alderman Ward 1. For Ward 2, the candidates are Robert Langford IV and Maurice Walker. For Alderman Ward 4, Rusty Phillips and Teresa Van Hook have filed. Incumbent Jason Stiltner is running for mayor.

For the City of Rockwood City Council (elect three), the candidates are incumbent Larry (Coach) Davis, Thomas R. (Butch) Evans Jr., Mike Fuller, Edward B. Greif, incumbent Mike Reed, and Erica Williams. For mayor, Chevis Cox will face incumbent Jason Jolly.

Candidates will have about a week to withdraw from the race if they decide they no longer want to run. After that withdrawal period, the final names will be prepared for the ballot.

– Rockwood City Council (Elect 3)

 

Oak Ridge Municipal:

– Oak Ridge City Council (Elect 4)

– Oak Ridge City Board of Education (Elect 3)

 

Oliver Springs Municipal:

– Oliver Springs Mayor

– Oliver Springs Alderman (Wards 1, 2 & 4)

 

Early voting will run October 14–29, 2026, with Election Day on November 3, 2026.
