CITY OFFICIALS CLARIFY WORK ON PANSY HILL BRIDGE IN HARRIMAN

Harriman Mayor Wayne Best and city officials have addressed rising community curiosity regarding ongoing construction at the Pansy Hill Bridge over the Emory River, near Riverfront Park.

According to a recent city update, the project is being managed by the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) to secure the bridge’s concrete supports and footings. Construction crews are performing structural work both underwater and on land near the park.

  • Timeline: Originally scheduled to begin roughly two years ago, the project is officially underway and expected to run through May of next year.

  • Traffic Impacts: Officials hope to wrap up the current one-lane traffic pattern by early fall, though motorists should anticipate extended lane restrictions and exercise caution through the active work zone.

City leadership plans to provide further updates as the construction progresses.
