HARRIMAN CITY COUNCIL SETS TUESDAY MEETING FEATURING NEW APPOINTMENTS AND ZONING AMENDMENTS
The Harriman City Council is scheduled to hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 1, at 6 p.m. at the Harriman Plaza, followed immediately by a work session.
The busy agenda features several key items, including a first reading of an ordinance to amend zoning regulations for the H-1 Historic Overlay District. Council members will also vote on updating municipal bank accounts at One Bank of Tennessee to remove former City Manager Scott Mason and add newly hired City Manager Tara R. Stockton.
Additionally, the council will address a series of appointments:

Utility Board: Vice Mayor Alicia Harris (2026–2028 term) and Jason Shillings (through 2030).

Committee Assignments: Bear Tidwell and Alicia Harris (Police Committee); Johnny Brackett and Cheryl Laxton (Fire and Parks & Recreation Committees); Lonnie Wright and Tim Johnson (Street Committee).

Planning Commission: James Neeley and Dwight Pearch (2026–2029 terms).
The session will open with standard administrative procedures, including prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, bill approvals, and reports from the city treasurer, city attorney, and HUB, concluding with remarks from the mayor and council.
