CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED CHASE AND DARK-OF-NIGHT FLIGHT ON SCARLET DRIVE

A 22-year-old Crossville resident was taken into custody Monday evening following a high-speed vehicle pursuit that ended on Scarlet Drive.
According to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Devyne Templeton was working a Tennessee Highway Safety Office (THSO) saturation grant on September 8 when radar clocked a white truck traveling at 88 mph in a 55 mph zone. When the deputy activated emergency lights and sirens to initiate a traffic stop, the driver accelerated rapidly, prompting a vehicle pursuit.
The suspect turned onto Scarlet Drive, where he accelerated further and manually turned off the vehicle’s headlights to elude law enforcement in the residential area. The truck eventually crested a hill, braked, and came to a stop in front of a house on Scarlet Drive.
Deputies conducted a felony stop and took the lone occupant into custody without further incident. The driver was identified as Caleb Lavern Reinford.
Reinford faces multiple charges, including evading arrest, reckless endangerment, and reckless driving, with total bond amounts set at $27,500. He is scheduled to appear in General Sessions Court on October 19, 2026, at 8:30 AM. The vehicle was towed from the scene and Reinford was transported to the Cumberland County Intake facility for booking.
