Early this morning, the Monterey Police Department successfully intercepted a stolen vehicle during a routine traffic stop on Industrial Drive.

Upon investigating the vehicle, officers discovered that the driver was a juvenile runaway from Arkansas. The teenager was immediately taken into custody and subsequently transported to a local juvenile detention facility.

Authorities also impounded the vehicle involved in the incident, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, which had been reported taken.
