Ongoing bridge repairs on Interstate 40 Eastbound are triggering significant traffic backups in Cumberland County today.

The maintenance, which began this afternoon near Mile Marker 328, has forced the closure of the eastbound right lane and the right shoulder. With only two lanes available to begin with, the single-lane restriction is severely impacting the flow of traffic through the area.
